On behalf of Bishop Roberto Mallari, DD, from the Diocese of San Jose, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, Father Getty Ferrer is conducting the Mission Appeal at St. Matthias this weekend. The Diocese of San Jose is located 160 km. north of Manila, with a population of 789,000. It is mostly an agricultural community with poor tenant-farmers producing rice, corn, onions, fruits and vegetables. Annually typhoons devastate the rice crops of many poor farmers. The Diocese humbly asks for and relies on your generosity in order to support and sustain their pastoral programs and outreach activities. Thank you for your generous response to our Appeal!

Faith Formation: St. Matthias is in great need of Catechists to help our young people learn the faith and grow in their personal relationship with Jesus. We are looking at the real possibility of not being able to offer all the grades next school year. Is the Holy Spirit calling you to help build the kingdom of God here at St. Matthias? God will not allow you to outdo him in generosity! Faith Formation classes meet on Monday nights. Help is available to prepare for this important ministry in the Church. Please call Catherine Tolnay, Director of Faith Formation, at 301-459-4814 ext. 205 to discuss the possibility of volunteering.
