Please join the Knights of Columbus, Ladies of Charity, and Hispanic and African ministries to assist with preparations, donations, and volunteering for the upcoming Food Drive here at St. Matthias. Volunteers are needed Friday evening, Nov. 20th to set up, and Saturday, Nov. 21st to help distribute bags of food for this "drive thru" event. We had a plan. We knew that with the expenses of the Capital Campaign as well as unexpected costs for church maintenance (parking lot repaving, boiler in the parish office), we would not do well financially during the first nine months of the fiscal year. Still, April would bring Easter; we had events scheduled in Friendship Hall with anticipated revenue...

The food pantry at St. Matthias will be open on Fridays beginning September 25th, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM (noon). Bags will be distributed from the Hughes Center garden gate area. No ID is needed.
Have you considered looking into joining the Catholic Church? Are you baptized in the Church but never made First Communion and/or Confirmation? Were you raised a Catholic but are interested in growing in your adult knowledge of the faith? The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is for you. St. Matthias will begin RCIA classes on Wednesday, September 30th at 7pm in the Hughes Center. We will begin with a "Come and See" evening where the program will be explained and all questions answered. If you are interested in learning more, we will meet most Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm. There will never any pressure to join the Church but please come and see what the Church teaches and why the Churches teaches what she does. Please invite friends and family to "Come and See" .
We no longer ask you to register in advance to attend a weekend Mass. Just sign in as you enter the church and pick up a bulletin from the table in the vestibule. Masses are at 4:00 pm and 7 pm (Spanish) Saturday, and 8;00 9:45, 11:30 am, and 6:00 pm on Sunday. Welcome back!
