Saint Matthias the Apostle Parish proudly invites you to join us as we celebrate the installation of Father Milt Jordan as pastor on Sunday, August 30th at the 6 p.m. Mass. Father Milt will be installed by Cardinal Donald Wuerl. We rejoice that the Lord has guided our new pastor to lead our congregation and we look forward to celebrating this occasion as a family of God. We pray that the Lord continues to bless Father Milt with his new charge and grant him the grace, peace, and joy to sustain him through his commitment to the parish. A reception with light refreshments, hosted by all church ministries, will be held after the Mass in Friendship Hall. All are welcome. For more information contact Pat Ford at 301-459-4814 x201.

Parish Library: We plan to open a library in the Hughes Center for the use of parishioners. This library will contain books on religion and the church as well as history, biographies, science, even some novels. We need bookcases. If you have bookcases (preferably 6 feet tall x 3 feet wide) you would care to donate, we would be very grateful. Cash donations to buy bookcases would also be welcome. If you can help, please contact Toni Webster
Usher’s Closet: On Friday, July 17th the usher’s closet area will be cleaned out, so if you are missing anything and have not looked in the closet for it, please speak to an usher for assistance before the 17th. As of that date anything remaining will be donated or discarded. Thank you.
tomorrow evening or Sat morn I will disappear from the scene for a few days away from the parish to celebrate with some 45/120 cousins gathering in Ocean City.
On Tuesday Fr Francis will arrive from Nigeria. I am confident some from the African community will invite him to dinner until I return on the 9th.
Be certain to tell him how fortunate he is to be living with me at Ignatius House!!!!!! Most likely I will be the blessed to be living with him.
Have a great holiday!
